Left Behind journal of an unwanted, forgotten sibling

BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP: Set in 2006. After Jess (itscathartic) left town without a word, Caleb ended up going downhill. He eventually ended up going to live with his paternal grandparents in Chicago, and stayed with them until he graduated high school. After turning himself around, and with the help of an earned scholarship, his grandparents have managed to send him to college at NYU, where he's majoring in art education, with a minor in photography. He has not seen or heard from his brother in years, and is unaware of his relationship with Nathan Petrelli (notacargojet).

DISPLACED FAMILY: Set in season two of Gilmore Girls, Caleb has been sent to stay with his uncle Luke (secretlyasoftie/whacking_quota) and his half-brother Jess (itscathartic) in Stars Hollow. He is a year and a half younger than Jess, and very shy. He has built up a friendship with Serafina (filleperdue), which has developed into a major crush. They've been on a date, and kissed before, and he is absolutely smitten. After dancing around the subject and sitting in a gray area for a little while, they have finally admitted to liking each other, and Serefina is now officially his girlfriend. He is also friends with the recovered-alcoholic-turned-lawyer John (prezstandsalone), aka Nathan Petrelli (unknown to anyone in town), as well as Jess' crush Rory Gilmore (wantsaplan).

WINDWARD CIRCLE: Based on the spin-off that never was (and set roughly at the end of season 3), Jess has left Stars Hollow and gone to California to find his biological father Jimmy, leaving Caleb in Stars Hollow. Caleb is bitter and angry towards his half-brother for abandoning him, and has sunk into a deep depression. He has a moping partner in Rory Gilmore (wantsaplan).

Ugh. I'm already getting sleepy. Weird.

He was actually sneaking out. For the first time in his life, Caleb wasn't being the good little one, staying inside and doing what he was told. He could see Jess with his headphones on, already asleep over a book. Knowing his brother was a pretty heavy sleeper once he got started, the teen grabbed his brother's black leather jacket and a skullcap, putting it on over his own hoodie, covering most of his dark, curly hair with the hat. For some reason, wearing little touches like these made him feel better about this; more stealthy. He tiptoed past his sleeping brother and out the door, down the stairs and out the back. He was out. He'd actually snuck out, on his own.

Now he just had to make a mad dash for the high school, before his uncle caught him, or someone else noticed him.

No school, but I should sleep. Don't really want to.
